Breeding, Like Rabbits

CHEYENNE, WYO – The Event Center at Archer is just a hop skip and a jump away from Cheyenne which makes it the ideal location for the High Time Rabbit Club and Wyoming State Rabbit & Cavy Association double open, double open youth and double open cavy convention show.
Obviously that would be a great event by itself, but the Saturday show also included a rare breed and mini rex specialty show.
Like the county fair, but only rabbits and cavy so a county fair with a soft edge to it. The people participating, regardless of participation were in their element, letting their hare down. Here is their skill and hard work appreciated. Here are they appreciated for who they are. Breeders of Rabbits.
If you’ve never left, or if you’ve never been to Wyoming you might mistake the event as breeding ground for the next pandemic virus. The rabbit represents different things to different people. One man’s Wuhan wet market is another’s opportunity to purchase a rabbit for a very reasonable price considering the coloring, pattern and history.
Tiny cages. Arguably the rabbits are more comfortable in tiny cages. The participants obviously care about their rabbits. To the point of caring about their blood lines both past future and present (boinging). Similar to proud pig farmers but more offended when you ask about taste, calorie content and wine pairings.
